2016 NOLA Music Awards, Director Jade DelValle

Without a doubt, 2016 has been quite a year for me. This year, I shot music video movies, took several business trips to major cities such as Atlanta, New York, and Houston to expand my brand, not to mention I attended beneficial music festivals such as SXSW and A3C. This year, my clientele increased tremendously, resulting in the push out of over 50 solid visuals, including some of big name artists such as Drake, Future, Lil Uzi, Lil Yachty, Young Thug, and Denzel Curry. It’s hard to believe there’s still two months left in the year (I wonder what’s in store).

Balancing the tasks of being a full time music video director and a full time college student is definitely not the easiest. The days become blurred, as I, time and time again, find myself trying to finish an edit and cram for my midterm one night, then, the next day, waking up to take the exam and heading to another shoot right after. There are very few moments of celebration, or times I spend dwindling on one accomplishment, because I always feel like it’s never enough; I am never satisfied.

However, there are moments in life when we as creative people receive acknowledgement for our efforts and earn recognition at a higher level.

This year, I am honored to say I was nominated as ‘Best Director’ for the 2016 NOLA Music Awards. I would like to thank every one of my clients that I’ve shot with from the area. Thank you for learning, building, and growing with me. Thank you to the staff at the awards for recognizing me as a visual voice, and thank you to the city of New Orleans for always making me feel at home, and for taking me as I am.

To my supporters, if you could please take the time to vote for me as ‘Best Director’ here I’d be much appreciative.

Thank you all once again, and I’ll see you all at the awards.
